Polymer Materials Engineering (PME) students and faculty will be hosting lab tours in the Engineering building from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. This event is for anyone interested in learning more about how students and faculty are working to contribute to a circular economy with sustainable polymers and composites. Tours will include the hands-on lab spaces of the PME program, industry-sponsored research, student professional organizations, and a day-in-the-life of an engineering student! Highlights will include demonstrations of recycling and sustainability research, instruments for measuring properties, and polymer and composite manufacturing processes. Learn more about how students collaborate with local industry partners to recycle ocean plastics into new products, how students are recycling carbon fibers from scrap airplane composites parts, and hear from the PME faculty about the curriculum and other research projects. This event is open to all and registration is not required. Just show up to ET 113 from 11-2.
