Since the inaugural event in 2017, the Diamond Symposium class
size has grown to an average of 50 participants, allowing for a larger,
highly qualified candidate pool while maintaining the exclusive and
more intimate feeling many of the symposium sessions require.
Originally the event was launched as an employer branding event to
create ambassadors for our Dow brand. The immersive experience
has been of the utmost importance and reflected in the choice of
venues, carefully curated care packages for the students, and
specific sessions to inform students of each pillar of our strategy and
relevant content to improve their professional skills and network.
The success of this thoughtfully planned event is reflected in the offer acceptance rate each year, particularly full-time hires, which is a primary focus for the 2021 Symposium. To date, we have had 158 participants partake in this three-day program with 70 overall hires. In addition, the applicant rate has increased since 2017 as our alumni network continues to grow, which will benefit the program in the future.
