About Creators Wanted

Building the Workforce of Tomorrow

Manufacturers in the United States need to fill 4.6 million jobs by 2028. More than half of those jobs could be left unfilled because of two issues: a skills gap and misperceptions about modern manufacturing.

That’s why the National Association of Manufacturers, together with The Manufacturing Institute, is launching the Creators Wanted campaign, an unprecedented national effort to build the modern manufacturing workforce of tomorrow.

By 2025, Creators Wanted aims to reduce the skills gap in the United States by 600,000, as well as increase the number of students enrolling in technical and vocational schools or reskilling programs by 25% and increase the positive perception of the industry among parents to 50% from 27%.

About MFG Day

Creators Wanted in Modern Manufacturing

Launched annually on the first Friday in October with events that continue throughout the month, MFG Day helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders. MFG Day empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.

MFG Day is an initiative of The Manufacturing Institute, with the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association as a founding partner. The Institute grows and supports the manufacturing industry’s skilled workers for the advancement of modern manufacturing. The Institute’s diverse initiatives support women, veterans, students and workers through skills training programs, community building and supporting the advancement of their career in manufacturing. As the workforce development and education partner of the National Association of Manufacturers, the Institute is a trusted adviser to manufacturers, equipping them with resources necessary to solve the industry’s toughest challenges.
