Local students were given the opportunity to explore a local company during a manufacturing day tour organized by Jacqueline Bracey, Director of Community Relations at Workforce Career Readiness™. The Glass Doctor of Forney opened their door to students from Workforce Career Readiness ™ job shadowing program.
The purpose of the tour was to introduce them to new career opportunities. During our visit, the students learned the company’s core values, safety and social responsibility. The students went behind the scenes of the glass installation process for the home, auto and commercial customer; a complete hands on experience. participants were fully engaged and it was an interactive experience where they listened, but also had time to ask questions and discuss ideas. “We added manufacturing day to our job shadowing program to advance manufacturing careers and build relationships with businesses and schools,” says Dr. Corinthia Price, CEO & Founder of Workforce Career Readiness™.
This day basically allowed students to learn about occupations they didn’t know existed in their own backyard,” Dr. Corinthia Price added. Jacqueline Bracey hopes to make manufacturing day an annual event with more students being able to tour Texas manufacturing businesses.
