Thousands Participate in Competition and Job Fair During Lima Makerfest

High school manufacturing and skilled trades competition and employment opportunities highlighted the third annual LinkLima/Allen County MakerFest October 29-21 in Lima. More than 1,200 high school students competed in various manufacturing and skilled trades contests during the first day of the event October 19, with winners announced on the following day. In addition, the students had the opportunity to prepare for job interviews during mock interviews and job search makeover sessions. More than 60 employers and skilled trades councils showcased their products and opportunities during the event, capped off with the event's job fair on October 21 where attendees had the opportunity to meet with speak to representatives of the participating employers. Since its inception in 2015, MakerFest has become a regional event where employers from Allen and the surrounding counties participate.
