Manufacturing Technology Expo at Waubonsee Community College

On 10/17/17 Waubonsee Community College's (WCC) Business and Career Technologies division partnered with Valley Education for Employment System (VALEES), to host over 70 area high school students from the Fox Valley Career Center for an on-campus visit. The goal of this event was to showcase the variety of manufacturing technology career programs available at WCC. Students heard from a panel of faculty members representing Automation; Computer Aided Design and Drafting; Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning; Machine Tool Technology and Welding Technology programs, regarding the career paths into their respective fields, current employment demands, and earning potentials for entry level employees. Representatives from Snap-On Tools and Aidex were on hand showcasing the tools and equipment common to these manufacturing fields. Students also toured program facilities and heard a presentation from industry professional, Steve Coscia, CSP.

Evening events for WCC students, industry professionals and community members, included demos of the 3D printer and virtual welder, networking and an additional presentation from Steve Coscia.
