Fifteen underclassmen from Miller City High School's Project Lead the Way program visited the Husky Lima Refinery for a Manufacturing Day morning session that included information sessions with refinery staff on safety practices and equipment used at the facility. The students concluded the visit with a bus tour of the refinery. Husky has a refining capacity of 160,000 barrels of crude oil daily, producing gasoline and aviation fuel.
Afterward the group joined the staff of nearby Randall Bearings for lunch and a tour of the precision machining plant. Randall Bearings machines products for numerous global companies, using bronze and other materials. The company employs nearly 100 people.
