By getting involved in Manufacturing Day, educators can help students and parents understand the career opportunities available in today’s manufacturing sector and help them prepare for the future.
Use these opportunities to learn more about manufacturing and to get your students and their families excited about the prospects.
1. Teacher’s guide
The Manufacturing Institute’s Dream It. Do It. program has put together “An Introduction to Manufacturing” — a great guide to the field for grades 6–12.
2. Live MFG DAY events
What better way to introduce your students to manufacturing than by organizing a field trip to a local manufacturer during MFG DAY? Find an event in your area and make contact with the Host to get started.
3. Virtual MFG DAY events
For those who can’t make it to a live MFG DAY event, or who don’t have any in their area, there’s always the possibility of a virtual event, such as Alcoa’s “Manufacture Your Future,” which can be streamed live in a classroom.
Don’t forget to sign up for the MFG DAY e-newsletter to stay on top of MFG DAY news and opportunities!
