Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers.

ROCKFORD, Ill., June 24, 2015 – Shell Lubricants announces its platinum sponsorship of Manufacturing Day 2015, placing a spotlight on manufacturers participating in the program and providing necessary resources. This is the third straight year that Shell Lubricants has sponsored Manufacturing Day, and its second year as the exclusive Platinum sponsor. Manufacturing Day is a grassroots effort by U.S. manufacturers to improve the public perception of manufacturing in North America by coordinating awareness-raising activities at a variety of locations across the country on October 2, 2015.

“The Manufacturing Day co-producers are delighted to welcome back Shell Lubricants as our exclusive Platinum Sponsor for 2015,” said Ed Youdell, president and CEO of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association. “We are grateful for the support they have offered and the creativity they have demonstrated in helping to spread the message about Manufacturing Day to the general population. Their commitment to the program benefits both the hundreds of host companies and the hundreds of thousands of visitors who attend Manufacturing Day events.”

Manufacturing Day is an annual national event that brings together hundreds of manufacturers to host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers. A panel of co-producers comprised of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Manufacturing Institute (MI), the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), and guest producer Industrial Strength Marketing (ISM) provides the centralized support necessary to coordinate this nationwide array of simultaneous events. Science Channel and Edge Factor are the event’s media partners and American Made Movie is its movie partner.

“Shell Lubricants is proud to be the Platinum Sponsor of this premiere industry event for the third consecutive year.  We appreciate Manufacturing Day’s guidance and support of our entire industry, to help educate and encourage all generations to become part of this critically important industry,” said Jacqueline Gates, Industrial Marketing Manager at Shell Lubricants. “As the manufacturer and supplier of world-class lubricants, we understand the vital role manufacturing plays in the success and growth of this country.”
