The partner organizations that produce Manufacturing DaySM across North America are pleased to announce that Edge Factor will join the 2016 production team as a Strategic Content Partner.  Edge Factor is a media production company that creates inspiring, high-impact media that tell the stories of innovative manufacturing teams who design and build incredible products that affect lives and, ultimately, the future of our economy.

“Manufacturing is filled with compelling stories, and Edge Factor tells these kinds of stories in a manner that is highly relatable for today’s youth,” said Ed Youdell, president and CEO of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, one of the four founding partners of Manufacturing Day.  “We are delighted that Edge Factor producer, Jeremy Bout, and his production team have agreed to join us for another year and share their storytelling talents with the Manufacturing Day movement through the Rock MFG DAY Kit.”

Edge Factor has produced a complete package of materials designed exclusively for use at Manufacturing Day events; it is available at no charge to schools and manufacturers with registered MFG DAY events.  This Rock MFG DAY Kit was used in nearly 750 event locations across North America last year and has been updated for 2016. It is hoped that many more locations will take advantage of this compelling package of multi-media resources this year. Full details on the kit can be found at www.mfgday.com/resources/rock-mfgday-kit.
“Perhaps some may find it daunting to think about opening their doors on Manufacturing Day due to deadlines and day-to-day workloads, but these things do not have to be a barrier,” said Jeremy Bout, Producer/Host of Edge Factor. “Our goal with this partnership is to make hosting an event as easy and dynamic as possible, as we encourage more businesses and schools to open their doors.”

Through its educational division, eduFACTOR, the Edge Factor team has created a comprehensive educational program designed to inspire the next generation of inventors, entrepreneurs and manufacturers, which is distributed via schoolwide subscriptions.  Hundreds of North American high schools and colleges currently subscribe to this program. eduFACTOR provides tech teachers with turnkey, hands-on Maker Projects, Interactive Labs, Career and Technical Lesson Plans, and more. It also assists guidance counselors as they work with students to make informed career decisions.

Manufacturing Day is an annual national event, executed at the local level by more than 2,500 manufacturers across North America that host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers. A panel of co-producers including the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Manufacturing Institute (MI), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), provide the centralized support necessary to coordinate this nationwide array of simultaneous events.
