The City of Longmont, Colorado proclaimed October 6th as "Manufacturers Appreciation Day" at its Council meeting on Tuesday, October 3rd. Students from the St. Vrain Valley School District (Career Development Center) toured two Longmont manufacturers - Zometool and Custom Microwave. After the tours, students were taken to the Front Range Community College Advanced Technology Center in Longmont where Mayor Dennis Coombs and Longmont Economic Development President, Jessica Erickson, spoke about the importance of manufacturing jobs in the Longmont community. Lunch was provided by the Longmont Economic Development Partnership and Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. The tours and event for the day were a partnership event coordinated by the Longmont Economic Development Partnership, NoCo Manufacturing, Front Range Community College, St. Vrain Valley School District/Career Development Center and Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce.
