941 Riverside Dr
Chattanooga, TN 37406

Safety is a core value at Tennessee American. It goes beyond a priority and is simply how the company choose to work. In offices and in the field, safety goes beyond measuring accident and injury rates to focus on identifying hazards and ensuring employee well-being. The goal is zero accidents and injuries and the premise is simple:
One of our key beliefs is that exposures that can result in injury be corrected before an injury occurs. Every single employee is encouraged to report safety near misses without fear of reprisal. These near miss reports are investigated, corrective actions are applied and critical information is shared across the company so that other employees can benefit from the knowledge gained.
The tour will cover the processes of the Citico Water Plant. Visitors will be exposed to the water’s path from the river to leaving the plant as safe drinking water. It will cover processes including, low service pumping from the river, sedimentation removal, carbon filtering, chemical injection, solids removal, and high service pumping to the customers of Chattanooga.
There will be some walking involved, about a half mile. If there is heavy rain, parts of this tour will be outside.

About Chattanooga Engineers Club

The Chattanooga Engineers Club was established to promote the exchange of ideas and to learn about current developments and trends in science engineering and technology. In addition, the Club participates in projects of interest to the public that require engineering/technical expertise. It encourages K-12 students to gain a better understanding of technology and to consider a career in a technical field. It supports community and state efforts to improve the education system so that students get a better exposure and understanding of the world around them and that they are able see how science, math, engineering and technology can play a vital role in making the world a better place. The Engineers Club meets most Mondays from noon till 1:00 p.m. at the Chattanoogan Hotel in downtown Chattanooga. .
