Manufacturing Expo / Presentation

October 14, 2016 9:00am

22600 OH-34
Archbold, OH 43502

One of the main challenges facing manufacturers today is a growing gap in skilled labor. Manufacturing jobs have changed and there are good high demand jobs waiting to be filled. To address this issue, more young people must be inspired to pursue manufacturing careers.

Students from the surrounding 5 county area school districts will experience an expo tour, a panel discussion featuring success stories, and student breakout sessions. Manufacturers from the surrounding five counties will be set up to showcase and explain their company and the skills they look for when hiring.

About Northwest Ohio Manufacturing Day

This event is being presented by the economic development offices in the five county area (Henry, Fulton, Williams, Paulding, Defiance), in partnership with Northwest State Community College and the NW Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). Our goal is to educate students on what manufacturing is today, because it's not your grandfather's factory anymore! This will provide a wonderful opportunity for companies in Northwest Ohio to showcase what positions are offered and what is manufactured locally. Companies will also have the opportunity to network and connect with other manufacturers in the Northwest Ohio Region.
