The Flathead Timber Tour will visit a family forest hazardous fuels reduction project at Spring Brook Ranch, owned by Carol Bibler and Jim Watson. This fuels reduction project is managed in cooperation with the Forest in Focus program of the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation. The project is designed to reduce fire fuels and get logs to the mills. Presentations during the event will include harvest goals, the community forest, information on the Foys-to-Blacktail Trail system, and their conservation easement. The group will observe timber harvest operations and receive information on the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation's Forest in Focus program.

The Flathead Timber Tour is held annually on the Thursday of Montana Forest Products Week - this year October 20, 2016. The purpose of the tour is to inform the public about the value and importance of natural resources to our economy and quality of life.
