Teachers from 25 school districts will be attending an all day training at Point Park University as a part of the Explore the New Manufacturing Student Video Contest. The training will provide information about video production, post production and the details for the video program being launched in the region for the first time by Catalyst Connection. The teachers will go back into their schools and form a small team of middle school students that will create videos about "what makes manufacturing cool" from their perspective. Each school will be matched with a local manufacturing company. The program, an extension of our Explore the New Manufacturing efforts, is designed to change the perceptions of manufacturing for not only the students directly involved in the program, but those throughout their communities and beyond as well. The initiative is funded in part by the Benedum Foundation and Chevron.
