The Jackson Chamber is partnering with the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services for Manufacturing Day 2017. Our partnership event, Manufacturing Today will introduce Jackson-area students and educators to their local Manufacturing Industry.
On Friday Oct. 7th, Manufacturing Today will kick-off with lunch, followed by local manufacturing plant tours. The goal of the Manufacturing Today event is to raise awareness about the exceptional training and job opportunities that exist in manufacturing and to give students a glimpse into of the atmosphere of a manufacturing plant. Students and educators have been invited from schools across the Jackson area to learn what the manufacturing industry looks like today.
Considering how manufacturing job environments and necessary skill sets have changed quite drastically over the years, this event could open the eyes of students and educators to a career path they had not considered. The schools invited to this event include, Southside High School, Northside High School, Liberty Technology Magnet High School, JCM Early College High School, Tennessee College of Applied Technology Jackson, and the Advanced Maintenance Technician Co-op Program at Jackson State Community College as well as others.
